2.7.1 / 25 years and meet star swarm 122 total, 12200 km/s, is that too much?

I’m currently 30 years into my campaign playing as the Rodash Commonwealth, and I just hit a massive, terrifying roadblock. My capital is established in Alpha Prime, and I was trying to expand my network towards the Lancea system.

My Jump Gate Construction Ship just arrived at the Lancea jump point and immediately began stabilization operations. However, after 1 month, a massive Star Swarm fleet attacked it.

This is on Version 2.7.1 (completely vanilla, no modifications). To make things worse, I am running a high-difficulty setup where all NPR settings are enabled: Star Swarmers, Pre-cursors, Raiders, and Aether Raiders are all active at the same time.

Because Lancea is uncomfortably close to my core worlds via Castore and Emden, I am pivoting entirely to a swarm-vs-swarm attrition strategy using a dedicated light displacement doctrine. I have designed three specific hulls to lock down the border:

  • A 1,000-ton Fast Attack Craft (FAC) packed with Size 1 Box Launchers and Size 1 Dual-Use Missile to deliver high-volume alpha strikes against their smaller LACs.

It has been exactly 5 years since the catastrophic loss of our jump gate construction ship at the Lancea jump point. Since that dark day, the Rodash Commonwealth has pivoted into a state of total military mobilization.

To bypass our bottlenecked conventional industries, the Commonwealth authorized the deployment of massive Forced Labour Camps to aggressively accelerate component fabrication. Our industrial web across the core—leveraging dedicated manufacturing complexes on Luna, Mercury, and Mars—worked in absolute synchronization to feed our orbital shipyards.

Quicky Assembly win the contract to build the FAC and Tackit Ship Integrator to build the Corvette, our naval production lines achieved unprecedented efficiency. In just a single calendar year, our yards successfully rolled out:

  • 16x Falcon-class
  • 9x Saga-class

This strike package is now fully operational, armed to the teeth with our high-velocity Sax S.1/DU-M box-launched missiles. The logistical backbone is set up, the off-world factories are pumping out replacement ordinance, and the fleet is currently massing at the Castore border system.

We are finally ready to force the transit, avenging the 95 crewmen lost five years ago, and test this light displacement doctrine against the 12,200 km/s Swarm blockade.

The war against the Star Swarm has raged for five years now, and the Rodash Commonwealth has just concluded two major fleet engagements. The light displacement doctrine of FACs and Corvettes has proven its worth in blood.

Through intense hit-and-run missile strikes and tight jump-point defense, our forces have successfully sunk 15 Swarm Light Attack Craft (LACs).
