I want to know like how it thinks because I’m curious, and I also want to know a way to space master looking at nprs like as if it was you own empire if you can even do that, mostly npr mechanics like how they decide to colonize a world and how they chose if it’s worth it to colonize or mine the planet

You cannot use SM-mode to view or mess with NPRs or spoilers.

NPRs function like player races with a couple of simplifications. They choose planets based on a variety of different criteria.

For mining, they score each potential world based on quantity, accessibility and their need for particular minerals. If they are suffering shortages of a mineral, deposits of that mineral will boost the score. They are also interested in worlds with low colony cost, ruins, etc. They are also looking for suitable gas giants for Sorium mining.

When you engage in diplomacy, they score each system based on the combination of planet scores and existing colonies, then react accordingly to your presence. If you want to claim a system, they will consider the system score, plus the score of any systems to which they would lose access.
