Sensor Buoys

Hello, I am on my first game of Aurora and I was wondering about sensor Buoys. I understand its basically a missile with no engines. I saw that a few people had used them and I had some questions:

  1. Does the Buoy need both active and passive sensors?
  2. If i drop a Buoy on a jump point will it get ‘jumped’ by ships using the point?
  3. Does the Buoy stick around forever?

  2. In v2.7.1, the NPRs are tolerant of sensor buoys. In v2.8, they will destroy them.

  3. Yes, buoys last forever. They used to have a fixed life but replacing them added micromanagement with no real gameplay benefit.
