Automatic pathfinding between sectors

Can the game automatically plot routes through sectors? For example, I need to get from sector A to sector B, with a hundred sectors in between. Manually setting the jump through every gate is a pain and the game doesn’t need that. And if the order gets reset for some reason — that would be really unpleasant. Also, can I directly target a specific planet or fleet?

Yes, you can auto-route across star systems: use the radio bubble selection on the fleet orders screen. Double-clicking a system automatically plots all the transits to get there and opens up the orders for that system.
