Ok. I have a main race and I created a colony for that race and have been terraforming for it. However, I noticed that I could not get the colony to be a perfect 0.0. But, I could modify the race to fit the planet at a certain point. HOWEVER, when I tried to unload my new modified colonist on that planet it wouldn’t let me because I established it for the unmodified race.
Howe do I now establish or unload the modified race onto this world??? What I am doing wrong?
If you have two different species on the same planet, you need two separate populations. That is because a lot of population factors depend on the interaction of the species with the environment.
One day I may try to separate them, so you can have multiple species populations contributing to a single industrial output, but that would be a huge amount of work, so it won’t happen anytime soon.
No population on that planet for either race. I only have installations for original race. I tried to land the modified race and would not let me. So should I land some of the original race and then land the modified race?
Every population has a species, regardless of whether any are actually present. It’s based on whatever species was selected on the system view window when you created the population. You can see the population species by looking at the top of the left-hand column on the population summary.
If you want to land colonists of a different species, then you need to create a population based on that species and land them there. You can have multiple populations on the same system body. If you want the new species to man the installations currently at the population of the other species, move those installations to the new population, either manually or via SM mode.
You can create a colony for a new species from the “System View” window. To do this, first select the desired species from the drop-down list, then select the desired planet and click “Create Colony”. This way you will have two colonies on the same planet for different species.
