Hello, I have created a new species of my race on my home world. However, as soon as it reaches 5 or 6 million I start to get unrest increasing warnings. How do I make sure this does not happen again?? I have only change the Temp range of the species making the range temp lower and higher then the normal range of humans. Thank you

A new species is a new population - a new colony on the same planet. And since this new colony is not your capital, you will need to move ground forces to it to reduce unrest.

It seems to me you are talking about the security demand here.
If so it might be worthwhile to know that ground forces satisfy this on a per population basis, while naval assets work on every population in that system equally.

Armed ships and stations have a stat for that, which you can look up on the class design page (I don’t remember what it is called right now).

In a system with multiple populations a naval presence can be more efficient for the job.

This is not always the case.

Ground forces do not consume MSP after construction. They consume Wealth, which is a free “resource”. And as far as I remember, without ground forces, colony unrest does not decrease (I could be wrong about that).

Bringing in a bunch of infantry is easier than organizing MSP production and building ships. Just unload them and forget about them.

You are right, of course.

Nelson65 might not have a garrison ready though, so a squadron showing the flag might be his ticket to buy the time.

And it is always nice to show off the many different ways Aurora provides to tackle any given task.

Nope, as long as there is enough naval hardware in the system, colony unrest will decrease.

You can suppress that unrest with troops, though.

This reads like it was written by ChatGPT. XD

Can I have a recipe for chocolate chip pancakes? :3
(I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. Forgive meh. XD)

Everybody I encounter in the internet is simultaneously a pimpled nihilist teenager who thinks it is funny to post nudes of his little sister and a bot.

Until proven otherwise.

This includes you. Especially you.

That being said I won’t hold a grudge.

Many players run their economies in such a way that more wealth is generated than is used. For those players, your advice is apt. (Unless they then build so many ground forces that wealth generation no longer conveniently outpaces wealth consumption.)

Other players run their economies in such a way that wealth use and wealth generation is kept balanced. For those players, wealth is not a free resource, and the choice of using naval power or ground forces to reduce and prevent unrest is based on other factors.

And to add to skoormit’s point there are reasons to have naval forces in system others than unrest management.
