Potential (makeshift) Fix for Permanently Shortened Increments

I had been stuck with 190-220 sec increments for about 10 ingame days (I hoped the issue would solve itself given enough time. It didn’t :frowning: ). After making sure it wasn’t due to a fire control set to open fire, I had expected the cause to be a ship jumping back and forth. Taking a look at the database was inconclusive, yet I noticed an endless list of ‘contact reestablished’ events in one particular system.

Changing the NPR detection setting did nothing, even though I had no assets in the mentioned system. However, I gave the SM option of disabling sensors under the contacts tab of the tactical window a try. This immediately fixed the issue on the next turn. The issue didn’t pop up again even after reenabling sensors.

So, if you’re experiencing the same issue, maybe give that option a go.

I’ve played Aurora for many years and I had no idea that was an option, so thanks for posting about it.

I played around with it some more for curiosity’s sake.

An NPR got slapped hard by the Precursors in the aforementioned system. For whatever reason, the NPR still generated sensor contact events for the Precursor fleet, even though the NPR had no further assets in the system, according to the database.

Messing with the database, such as deleting the wrecks or the fleets and ships had no effect. Doing it the old fashioned way and blowing the Precursors to Kingdom Come instead solved the issue quite handily.

Xenos scum.
