Refuel at Colony conditional order

This happens in every game I have started ( at least in C#)

I have (had) Colonies on Earth and Mars , each having Spaceports, Shipyards, MSP’ s etc to enable the overhaul and refueling of my Survey Ships. My question is - when a Survey ship is ordered ( or automatically returns) home via the conditional order process , how can I ensure that the ship in question returns to Earth rather than to Mars ( or vice versa if required ) ? Time and again I order a ship to return expecting it to move to Earth only to find that the orders show Mars as the planet of destination. Sometimes I want the vessel to be at Earth but I can find no way of actually ensuring this happens if Mars is nearer to the ships planned route home. Sometimes I change the destination from Mars to Earth, only to find a few turns later that the instructions have reverted back to Mars.

The same thing happens with my Jupiter Fuel Harvester Fleet.Using the conditional order tabs and requesting the Fleet to unload at Colony and then return , sometimes they will offload at Mars and return to Jupiter , sometimes at Earth , depending on which planet is closest to Jupiter at the time. Should I be using normal instructions or making a template in this instance if I want the majority of fuel stored at Earth from where I can distribute it as required.?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Untick this for the colonies you don’t want them to go to?

skoormit,

Many thanks. Don’t know why I have missed seeing and using that box as I use the first 3 boxes regularly.

I’ve found that a lot of this game hides from me in plain sight too.

Ok ,

I unchecked the Mars box "destination for automated refuel " , leaving the Earth box ticked.

However my Jupiter Fuel Harvester Fleet are still moving to Mars to offload fuel because Mars is currently in a position between Jupiter and Earth and so is a nearer destination for the Fleet.

What else can be done to ensure that Earth is the sole destination for Fuel?

P.S. I am using the Standing Order Tab and the Conditional Order " when fuel 100% , transfer fuel and return".
