Unit Series: Missile edition

This probably doesn’t require a ton of description. The functionality added for Unit Series for Ground Units is very good and useful.

As a wannabe a4x missile guy, I don’t particularly enjoy the micro management of missile loadouts when you are transitioning from one generation to the next. My proposal is to add a Unit Series feature for Missiles. So instead of setting the loadout to 72 mark1 AMMs until we start to run out, and then manually changing some to the new mark2 AMMs, and then gradually adding more and more mark2s manually – a user should be able to add the missile types to a series of AMMs and then add the series to the loadout. And the load ordnance functionality should load newest in the series first.

Obviously all of this is easier said than done, as it requires a brand new Missile Series Management tab/screen somewhere. And it’d need to be limited so that only same size missiles could be added to the same series – I think? And logic of which missiles in a series to prioritize in loading is probably debatable.

We used to have missile series and it functioned pretty much like this. I can’t for the life of me remember why Steve removed them, though.

I didn’t actually remove them. They were in VB6 and I never got around to coding them in C#. I have four different versions of the same missile in my current campaign so I suspect missile series might make a comeback :slight_smile:

It would be also nice to choose which missile type unload on colony, from a supply missile ship :slight_smile:

Like “Unload Ordnance to Colony” and then choos which missiles :slight_smile:
Maybe you could add also “Unload All Ordnance to Colony”
