Like a fool I built many orbital miners and in my enthusiasm sent 10 to Venus forgetting about the whole diameter shenanigans
I picked them all up again to be dispatched among the comets and as soon as the last one left a CMC dropped 200 automines on Venus
what’s best now - support their operations by taking more automines up there or kick them off
And if it’s a kicking we’re doing how do I evict the CMC
Just buy their output and call it a day. Or if it’s worthless minerals, leave them be, they will generate nice amounts of tax wealth for you.

There’s 22m tonnes of corundium
27m tonnes of galacite
and 17m tonnes of titanium up there
and I need the corundium and galacite quite soon - their 200 mines will send it back in tiny parcels for 1000s of years whereas I could carpet bomb automines all over the place or build some humongous orbital habs up there
CMC don’t stop you mining it yourself. You can just add automated mines to the colony they created. Their output is entirely separate to the civilians, so you keep the minerals you mine and tax the civilians.
Perfect thank you Steve
If I take orbital habs up there do I then just put normal mines on the service and the orbital mining crews do their thing automatically?
Yes, correct. The mines are on the surface and their workforce commute from orbit.
Question of the century - is there a ‘best’ way
I suppose when I say best - I mean fastest way to extract the minerals and get them to earth

Neither.
The best option is either buy their output, or tax them.
If the mineral concentrations are good, buy the output. If you are worried about the cost, build financial centers on Earth or Luna to cover it. It’s way more cost effective to do that than to build and move orbital hab for surface mines.
If the mineral concentrations aren’t worth paying for, tax the CMC. It’s free money.
If there is a large enough deposit of high enough concentration, I put my own auto mines in place in addition to buying the civilian output.
Otherwise just buy their output when you have surplus budget, and tax it when you don’t.
