As someone mentioned the old Trans-Newtonian campaign in another post, I thought it might be fun to drop some old campaigns in a thread. They are massively out of date and shouldn’t be read as anything connected to modern Aurora, but they were fun at the time
They are in Word and don’t have any images. As with all campaigns, they eventually end without a solid conclusion.
This was created in the late 90s and early 00’s for Starfire, not Aurora. However, Aurora had its genesis in Starfire, so while the mechanics are completely different, and much simpler, the genre is very similar. Apologies that the quality of writing is not great
As with the other older campaigns, I don’t have images, except for the one below.
To give an idea of scale, here is the master system map that was assembled by someone who read the diary. Unfortunately, I am not sure who that was - so if you are reading this let me know so I can give credit here.
I’ll see what I can do about the map I made next time I use that device, assuming the software I used will even let me export it to a distributable format.
I tried to attach the PDF here but it looks like that is not an allowed format for files?
The file attachment restrictions are the default. I think I have just added PDF to the list. it works for me, but please try so I make sure it isn’t just because I am admin.
The Rigellian Diary is a 3rd edition Starfire campaign, rather than Aurora, so that is how the ships are displayed. Damage is applied left to right and each letter represents a different system, such as S = Shields, A = Armour, R = Missile Launcher, (I) = Engine, etc.
I grabbed the PDFs of Steve’s Colonial Wars campaign from the Wayback Machine, since it was another long and interesting one. IIRC it was the last VB6 AAR before development on the new version started. Missing the starting ship design post, since the archive didn’t have that one in printable form (you can still see the full page here). No images, unfortunately.
I think there is a section missing from wayback machine (page 5/6), but I do have it in Word. It needs some formatting but I will post it when I get time.
This came from the forum’s “Print” functionality, which captured the whole topic at once - it should have every post up to the end. A properly formatted version with images would be much better, though.
