Priority Range

Since the demise of the old forum I have lost the ability to search for mundane solutions that I once knew but have now forgotten ( old age problem ). My question today is what is the numerical range for vessel priorites ( and personnel priorities ) that can be inputted when designing vessels or allocating people to jobs. I know that having 1 is the top priority but what is the lowest priority that can be inputted?

Many thanks

I’m nearly certain that I’ve used 99 for officer assignment priority on freighters before. I never tried triple digits, but I can’t imagine needing more than 99.

Oh, never used that actually. How you use that “priority” numbers?

Priority for officer assignments is the main one. So the ships which “need” officers always have them, even if there are none which meet the criteria over ships which are “not as important” if they have officers or not.

There are some other areas where Priority is used, but that’s the main one.

It’s an Integer type in the database, which means the max value is roughly 2 billion. It is possible that the UI enforces a smaller max than that, but I use 9999 for my lowest priority ships and have no problems.

I use 9999 for the lowest priority.
It’s not that I need that many distinct values. It’s that when I want to change relative priorities, having large gaps along the spectrum makes it easier.
