Questions Not Worth Their Own Thread

That would be a very good idea. Just have them with intelligece/scout Frigates with the sole duty of findinding enemy colonies and launch ground invasions.

They will have transport equipped with shields and high armor levels drop ship techs so they dont just get shredded by STO barrages.

Okay, but…are they checked before or after checking for normal NPR at a body?

I’ve resurveyed the locations and found a new jump point.
I’m exploring the new system, to track back that NPR.
Thank you again, guys!

Spitballing here, but maybe they could be a ground first threat? Like have there be a small chance that if you terraform a planet, or open up a ruin, it “activates” their spores (if treated like Orks) and from then there will be a chance every tick for them to grow based on how hospitable the environment is for their species. If enough growth moments happen they then will start spawning ground units and attacking any garrisoned units on the body, with their success determining how quickly they spawn new ground units. Then if they take the planet they start spawning crude ships and if left alone too long they’ll eventually build transports and and go find a new planet to infest. If you defeat them on the planetary body you could also have a system whereby if the garrison drops below a certain level (representing a constant need to find and destroy spores/nesting sites in order to stop them gaining critical mass again) their population will start growing and start the process again.

No idea how feasible that would be, and could be a little irritating at times, but it would certainly provide a good reason to garrison worlds and provide more for the ground forces to do beyond planetary assaults.

In which window/tab can I find the total capacity of ground unit transport of my ships?

Does not exist.

Total for all ships in a fleet or total for all ships of a class in your empire?

For the empire.
For a fleet, the numer is already in the fleet data, when you select it in the Naval Organization window.

I’ve landed an assault force on Europa and defeated the alien Elite Infantry. Now what? There do not appear to be any prisoners. Also, Europa now appears twice in my Open Colony Summary tab–once with no population or units appearing, and once with my surviving ground forces appearing.

You can drag the ground forces between colonies and then delete whichever one you don’t want.

In this case, if there is nothing in the ex-alien colony, you can probably just delete it. If there were some population, resource, or buildings remaining, then you could use this to move the ground forces to the ex-alien colony and delete the one you placed just to land the units.

Having recently discovered the wonders of jump tender stations I have a commercial jump tender sat on a gate - can I also sit a military one on the same gate and they’ll both allow comm and mil access

A military jump drive should allow both military and commercial engines to pass through

Thanks. I’m surprised that there are not any prisoners. I know I bombarded Europa before landing my force. There were 3.4 million aliens there. Maybe I unintentionally wiped them out.

How do you delete the empty colony?

And how do you rebuild the unit that carried out the assault? I gave a medal to the commander, but is there a “unit citation”? The armored unit lost its logistics component and two thirds of its armor components.

So, if you assault and conquer an alien colony, you automatically create a colony of your own?

You had to create a colony to be able to unload troops there.

You can’t unload troops to someone else’s colony. You unload troops to your colony on the same body. And then your troops fight theirs. If you win, you gain control of their colony. And you still have control of your own colony.

Collateral damage from ground combat can still wipe out populations if you’re not careful, I believe. Especially if you subscribe to the Maxim 37 school of ground combat doctrine.

Unfortunately not.

Meanwhile I don’t think I’ve had a campaign in 5+ years where Proxima had any planets at all lol.
