State of the know galaxy - 2100
- Galactic Expansion and Exploration as of 2100 -
Known Space:
Following the first use of the translight engine by the U.E.S Intrepid the system of Luhman 16 was surveyed, this expansion continued as more Intrepid class vessels came into service and within seven years over seventeen systems have been explored.
For ease of planning the UEG has designated the explored systems into three geographical categories, the Galactic North, Galactic West and the Galactic East
——————————————————————————————————————————
Eastern Galactic Space:
The eastern reaches of known space currently contains the systems of Luhman 16, Proxima Centauri, V1216 Sagittari and Kappa Muscae.
Luhman 16 - A binary star system next to Sol it hosts five planets, two of which are gas giants but despite being the first surveyed system it contains little in the way of resources or habitable worlds and as a result has seen no colonisation for now.
Proxima Centauri - A desolate star system except for the fact it holds the first evidence of Alien life, two starship wrecks orbiting the star at an aproximate distance of 800mkm which have yet to be assessed.
V1216 Sagittari - Supporting further evidence of alien life, the system contains only one planet however it is one which bears current and past life, a ruined colony was discovered on the surface and marked for further exploration and the planets eco system is similar to that of Earth with 87.9% hydrosphere and a largely cold grassland like terrain with an atmosphere close to human hospitable conditions.
——————————————————————————————————————————
Western Galactic Space:
The Western reaches of known space currently contains the systems of Lalande 21185, DX Cancri, Procyon, 84 Cancri, and GJ 3522.
Lalande 21185 - Five planets orbit the primary star, two gas giants, two terrestrial planets and one dwarf planet. Large deposits of Sorium were found in both gas giants, the terrestial planets are barren with similar attributes to that of the moon with the ability to support an outpost for fuel harvesting operations.
DX Cancri - Largely empty single star, system with only one planet of note that orbits just one million kilometres away from its a faint M6-V class star with the surface of the world reaching upwards of 565c.
Procyon - A binary star system it contains a single highly valuable planet which while having no atmosphere is host to a partially intact alien colony of unknown origins with technological capabilities beyond current science with a large dormant construct located on a mountain found on the northern continent. The world also has large numbers of minerals with scientists estimating there may be even more obscured by the Alien ruins which could see further exploration.
84 Cancri - A barren binary star system, two super jovians one of which has sorium reserves. A single terrestrial world also orbits the star but has no noteworthy attributes.
GJ 3522 - Empty system, no comets, asteroids or planets orbit its K5-V class star

Northern Galactic Space:
The Northern Reaches of known space currently contains the systems of Alpha Centauri, Wolf 359, Barnards Star, EZ Aquarii, Omega Ceti, HH Andromedae, and Pi Ophiuchi.
Alpha Centauri - The golden goose and the first colonized system it is a binary star system with wealth, technology and planets extremely close to earth like conditions, seven planets are found between the two stars with three of them seeing initial settlements by forward colonists.
1 - Alpha Centauri-A I: Venusian world, large amounts of mineral wealth
2 - Alpha Centauri-A II “New Haven”: High ground survey potential, close to habitable for humans, dormant alien construct.
3 - Alpha Centauri-A III “Gorgon”: Tremendous Mineral wealth, Luna like habitability standards

6 - Alpha Centauri-B II “Manticore”: Terrestrial Iceworld with mediocre mineral wealth but capable of being terraformed, features a nitrogen-methane atmosphere
7 - Alpha Centauri-B III: Super-Massive Venusian world with poor mineral wealth
—
Wolf 359 - Large numbers of Gas giants with massive reserves of sorium, the system is ear marked to supply Alpha Centauri with a large supply of fuel
Barnards Star - More large gas giants with a small single ice covered terrestrial planet which could see terraforming work performed.
EZ Aquarii - A trinary star system, only two planets inhabit the system one terrestrial and one gas giant with little to no mineral wealth.
Omega Ceti - Not fully surveyed yet, a single ice terrestrial world with large gallicite deposits which could see future colonisation.
HH Andromedae - Two high mineral wealth worlds with further potential using ground survey operations
Pi Ophiuchi - Completely Desolate system with no bodies to speak of
