Procyon, Northern Continent, 25/01/2102 - 22:30 Hours…
The ground shakes as the hum of an engine roars ever closer down a valley pass, before suddenly coming to a stop. Now at the base of a seemingly alien structure the vehicle doors open and two men clad in powered armour dismount out of the vehicle, lighting up the darkness of the barren wasteland with their gun mounted flashlights.
”Eagle-Actual, this is Romeo-1 we are beginning the search now, over” - Romeo 1
”Copy that Romeo 1, reminder contact was lost four hours ago with the survey team. See if you can raise them on local radio once you are inside.” -Eagle Actual
”Understood, moving to enter” - Romeo 1
The pair begin moving forward to the door, their guns raised off to the side as they illuminate the sides of the door
”Lets get this done quickly Ramirez, these structures still creep me out” - SGT

Walking through the entrance they enter a small room connected by a corridor to a larger chamber at the heart of the facility
”Try raise the team on local” - SGT
”Survey team this is Romeo-1, contact was lost*…. respond, over” - PVT Ramirez
The call returned only by the static of the radio
”There are supposed to be lights and research material throughout these rooms, theres no signs of any kind equipment or life at all. Try to raise them again” - SGT
”Maybe they packed up and moved on? It does seem strange. Survey team this is Romeo-1, contact was lost…. respond, over” - PVT Ramirez
As they continue to walk through the compound trying to raise the survey team on the radio they come to another large chamber, they begin to look around. As they reach a structure at the center of the room a loud sound akin to the impact of metal moving closer almost like footsteps. Turning around they point their guns in the direction of the sound.
”What was that?” - PVT Ramirez
A red circle appears in the darkness, as they raise their guns to reveal what is coming towards them a large energy blast fires across the room directing light into every corner of the room. Its direction Ramirez.
”GET OUT OF THE WAY!” - SGT
Grabbing the PVT out of the way and pulling him to cover more blasts continue to fire out hitting the ground around them.
”Do you know the way out?” -SGT
”Yes sir… yes…” - PVT Ramirez
”Get out then find somewhere safe to report this to command as soon as possible” - SGT
Removing his safety from his firearm he begins to open fire on the approaching threat, now at close distance the target appears to be a bipedal robotic-like figure with weapons fire coming from its right arm. Bullets begin to hit its torso and bounce off, the sound of the deflections and gunfire filling the room. Ramirez is long gone and the threat walks ever closer with energy blasts hitting around him. Standing up to fire again a ball of light fills his visor and in that moment his body is thrown against a nearby wall before crumpling down, the blunt force trauma and energy knocking him unconscious, his armour the only thing that kept him alive.

Ramirez continues to run, out of breath as his armour slows him down. His only goal to get to the transport and contact command
”Eagle-Actual, Do you Copy?…. command… do you copy?” -PVT Ramirez
Turning the corner to the main exit he sees the transport and begins to run to it, as he goes to call for command once again he is thrown to the ground as the vehicle is engulfed in flames.

All contact with Procyon Colonial Command had been lost, the UEG was not aware of what had happened on the world until a month later when a failure to check in by the colony and long range scans by a Ticonderoga class colonizer revealed damage to the settlement. Previously exploitation of alien ruins have been a key part of exploration and expansion for the UEG. Now with the destruction of an entire colony and alien forces also appearing up on V1216 Sagittari it seems human presence has awoken advanced aliens and created a new threat that now has seemingly cut off the western and eastern regions of the galaxy.
Once made public two months later immediate pressure forced the government to begin the creation and arming of a military capable of protecting existing and future colonies. The atrocity committed on Procyon and the first contact with aliens being one of death caused unanimous support from all political wings to create this force, the Colonial Military Authority. Further the public wanted answers and revenge against the alien threat, and the government promised that Procyon would be reclaimed and the alien forces brought to justice.
The Colonial Military Authority was made up of the previous Colonial Security Forces and its officers, expertise and resources were rolled into this new organisation. Funding for the CMA was set relatively high with authorisation to redirect all naval shipyards to the construction of military vessels, initial enlistment and creation of five army Corps (150,000-200,000 personnel) within the next five years under the Force 2115 plan. The biggest challenge facing the CMA was the lack of existing vessels, research and assets for the creation of a true military force, a full overhaul of the entire security apparatus of humanity would need to go ahead and the cost associated with designing, constructing and building out this apparatus was expected to be extremely high.
First the CMA began the formation and creation of the Ground Forces arm with an order for five army corps, designed using expertise from historical examples and needs of the current government.
150,000-200,000 frontline personnel would be enlisted immediately and with high public support a significant number of volunteers came forward, the army would be a professional volunteer force. Each of the five army corps would feature four divisions, three infantry and one mechanized, and to arm these enlisted personnel parallel development of main battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, small arms and powered armour would go ahead at a rapid pace the cost to do this is expected to take up a significant portion of the CMAs budget.
Formations:
With the lack of existing shipbuilding, and design expertise it was decided to use the existing shipyards used to build the Intrepid class Experimental Science Vessel. Also making use of its tooling to design a frigate which would take up the core of the initial navy, these vessels would give the expertise and experience for future development of a full navy, while also being capable of protecting UEG space.
The new frigate named after the system where sagittari aliens seized control of the attempted colony target. Sitting at 15,000 Tons of displacement with a multitude of weapon systems, a small hanger deck for a sensor craft and enough space to hold a marine complement for security operations. Armed with 8 Cell VLS with 4 Missiles per cell for a total of 32 Size 12 Anti-Ship Missiles, for point defense protection the Sagittari is armed with two CIWS and 42 Anti-Missile-Missile launchers capable of shooting down missiles up to 1mkm away. Advanced sensor packages aim to ensure detection from a distance sufficient enough to engage the enemy before the frigate can be engaged themselves.

2nd of May, following a decision by the government all survey efforts are to be scaled back, new systems will no longer be jumped to and all efforts by associated resources will be made to develop a military, the CMA will authorised to do whatever is neccessary to protect humanity.
Mining operations on gorgon are at full pace.
Dormant Construct assists defensive systems research. Plans for the first Light Patrol Craft as an interrim protection measure are finalised.
